This is the opposite of a quiet edit. Twenty-four pieces that are doing something with colour, shape or both
Loud Home Accents

Glass, colour and sculpture
Glass is the easiest loud thing to own, because light does half the work for you. The Tizo Handblown Decorative Glass Knot at $68 is the piece that started this edit for me, mint green and completely useless in the best possible way. Ivy Bronx's Cooprider vase filler in pale blue at $73 is the pale blue version of the same instinct. Orren Ellis's hand-blown marine ink vase at $72 carries the most colour of anything here at that price. On the sculptural side, Arteriors' Luca Lava Stone Mushroom at $275 and the Lladro Starling II Porcelain Figurine at $270 are the two grown-up purchases, and the Lladro bird is black with a gold beak, which is louder than it sounds written down. Two green marble bowls at $89 and $85 finish the section.

Boxes, trays and catch-alls
Small, colourful, and every one of them holds something. The Ginori 1735 Oriente Italiano Round Box with Cover at $270 is the most beautiful object in this edit and I am not going to talk myself out of it. Jonathan Adler's Gala Lips Valet Tray at $75 is the funniest. Michael Aram's Anemone Catch All at $70 is the one that would survive a house move. For pink, Ebern Designs' Pink Alabaster Oval Display Box at $96 is real stone rather than resin, which is worth the difference. Addison Ross's round lacquered scallop tray at $118 is the piece I would put by the front door for keys. Bookends bring the floor down: Wrought Studio's Archer Bookend in amber at $45, and the Willa Arlo marble geometric pair with gold inlay at $46.

Tables, lamps and candlelight
The TOV Slab 59" Concrete Indoor/Outdoor Coffee Table at $1,099 is the anchor and the most expensive thing here. It looks like a rock, it works outside, and it is the one piece in this edit that changes a room on its own. Everly Quinn's Chebo Retro Oval at $590 is the warmer alternative if concrete is not your thing. For colour in a small footprint, terrazzo is the answer: Corrigan Studio's Sconyers at $170 in multi-colour speckle, and Winston Porter's Raluca block end table in pink at $164. Lamps do the rest, and Rosecliff Heights' Aime table lamp set in blue and gold at $146 is the louder of the two, with Sand & Stable's Ursuline glass lamp at $90 the quieter one. Candlesticks close it: a six-piece colourful metal set at $69, and a Ceralaca two-piece at $65.

Our honest take
Loud only works when it is outnumbered. Everything in this edit looks better in a room that is otherwise plain, and that is the part people skip. I would buy one of the large pieces and three of the small ones, not the other way around. The other thing worth saying is that colour photographs better than it lives, so check the return window on anything you are buying for one specific corner. The glass knot, the lips tray and the amber bookend are all under $80 and all reversible decisions. Start with those before you commit to a pink table.
