I have been buying marble in small doses for years, and it is the one material that makes a room look considered without much work on my part.
Marble Accents For Every Room

Small marble for the tabletop
The cheapest way into this material is the smallest one. A coaster set, a shallow dish, a tray that holds whatever you empty out of your pockets at the end of the day. I keep the LuxeDesigns Marble and Wood Hexagon Coaster Set at $31 and the Catalina Black Marble Coaster Set at the same $31 on two different tables, because coasters are the one marble object that earns its keep daily. The Mercer41 Marble Fluted Dish at $67 and Wade Logan's Round Marble Pleated Dish at $39 are the same idea at two prices, and the fluting is what keeps them from reading as plain stone. ANNA New York's Coluna Carrara Marble and Steel Nut Bowl at $95 is the only piece in this edit from Saks, and it is the one I would give as a gift. Two trays close it out, the Barletta at $85 and the Kristanna at $89.

This is the shelf, and nothing here has a job beyond looking like it was chosen. The Symple Stuff Chiara Marble Knots at $36 and Ebern Designs' Helios Wheel at $37 are both under $40, which still surprises me for solid stone, and they are the two I would start with if you want the look without committing to it. Bookends are the sensible version of the same purchase: Ivy Bronx Marble Bookends at $55, or the CosmoLiving Marble Orb set at $58 if you like brass against the stone. For storage that stays out on display, the AllModern Matheson Handmade Marble Decorative Box at $50 and the Gracie Oaks Terra Travertine Decorative Box at $46 both have lids, and travertine reads warmer than marble if your room runs beige. The two vases are the splurge here at $86 and $95.

Tables, boards and candlelight
Here is where the honesty matters. The George Oliver Watterson at $500 has a genuine marble and concrete top, and Lark Manor's Claiborne Marble Top Coffee Table at $385 is real stone. The Everly Quinn Amla end table at $177 and the 17 Stories 2-Tier End Side Table at $147 are faux marble, printed rather than quarried, and at that price that is the trade you are making. I would rather tell you now than have you work it out when it arrives. Faux also holds up better against heat and spilled wine, so it is not automatically the worse choice for a table you actually use. For the kitchen, the Koville board at $40 and Birch Lane's Millings Marble Cheese and Cutting Board at $41 are both real stone. Candlelight is the cheapest upgrade in the edit: the Ardenne marble tray hurricane at $74, or the gold taper holders with round marble bases at $83.

Our honest take
Marble is heavy, it stains, and it chips on the corners. None of that has stopped me. What I have learned is to buy it real where it touches food or drink, and to accept faux where the piece is mostly a surface, like a side table shelf. Sealing helps with staining, and a coaster under a glass of red wine helps more. If you take one thing from this edit, make it a tray or a coaster set under $40. Put it somewhere you look every day and see whether you want more before you start pricing coffee tables.
