Nike Vomero Premium is the dressier side of the line, alongside Vomero Roam, the Zoom Vomero 5, Vomero 18 and Vomero Plus. I trace where the line came from and how I would choose a pair.
Nike Vomero: How a Running Shoe Became the Sneaker I Wear With Everything

The Nike Vomero has a longer paper trail than most people assume. House of Heat's history of the line says the running shoe arrived in 2006. Nike's own account starts the Vomero 5 with an original launch in 2011, built as a performance running shoe, and says it still uses Zoom Air cushioning in the heel. Those two dates do not fight each other, they are just two chapters. I like knowing that before I wear a pair, because it explains why the shape looks the way it does.
The chapter that matters for getting dressed is 2018. That is when Nike says the Vomero 5 moved into streetwear and lifestyle, after a partnership with British designer Samuel Ross to redesign the look of the shoe. The timing fits what Vogue reported that year, that chunky, thick-soled sneakers were the most prolific shoes of 2018 and had made it onto real-world street style. Harper's Bazaar UK had already noted in February 2018 that chunky dad trainers were turning up on runways, and at Nike. Then the retro running look kept going, and Nike says the remastered Vomero 5 helped fuel that trend as comfort became a priority for everyone.
So this is where I would start, with the Nike Vomero 5 grid right below. There are plain Zoom Vomero 5 Sneakers, the Zoom Vomero 5 SE Sneaker, the Zoom Vomero 5 NA36 Sneaker and the Zoom Vomero 5 NA53 Sneaker, plus a Zoom Vomero 5 Running Sneakers pair. A mint green, a cobalt and violet, a black with a leopard swoosh and a dark purple Vomero 5 are the newer colours, and the last three of those sit in the small grid at the very end. Nike describes the current upper as synthetic leather and mesh with ventilation ports, built to be light, breathable and durable. What I care about is the look: layered panels, a stacked sole, a slightly technical face that sits well against something soft.
Try one with straight dark jeans and a cropped trench, or with a slip skirt and a thick sock. The chunky sole wants a hem that stops above it or a leg that breaks cleanly over it. Check the shape in the mirror from the side. If the sole and your trouser hem look like they belong to different outfits, change the hem, not the shoe.

Vomero Plus and Vomero 18, the Newer Pairs
The second grid moves to the newer pairs: the Vomero Plus and the Vomero 18. They share a name with the Vomero 5 and a very different silhouette, a little more sculpted and a little less retro. If the Vomero 5 is the throwback, these are the ones that look like they were drawn this decade.
The Vomero Plus group is the largest here. There are the Zoom Vomero Plus Sneakers, a few Vomero Plus sneakers in different finishes, the Vomero Plus Sneaker, the Vomero Plus road-running shoes, and two I keep returning to for personality: the Vomero Plus cow-print sneakers and the Vomero Plus Particle Pink/Rose Gold sneakers. The cow print is the pair for a person who dresses in quiet colors and wants one loud thing at her feet. Keep everything else plain: a gray sweatshirt, straight jeans, nothing patterned above the knee. The Particle Pink and Rose Gold pair is softer and works with a pale trench or a white shirt and wide trousers.
Then the Vomero 18. Here I will only repeat what Nike says, as history of the engineering, not a promise about any one pair. Nike describes it as double-stacked max cushioning, with soft ZoomX foam stacked on top of ReactX foam in the midsole. For the women's version it lists a higher stack height than the Vomero 17, a plush foam collar and an increased rocker, with the foam 13% more responsive than previous React technology. The upper is engineered mesh, chosen for soft breathability. RunRepeat, the running-shoe testers, say engineered mesh uppers are a top choice for breathability and that poor airflow can lead to moisture and blisters. In the grid you will find the Vomero 18 Sneakers, the Vomero 18 Sneaker, the Vomero 18 logo-detail sneakers and the Vomero 18 Se lace-up sneakers.
On the street, I wear these with leggings and an oversized blazer, or with a midi skirt that has some weight to it. The silhouette is big, so let the clothes be either clean or relaxed, and do not fuss with both.

Vomero Premium and Roam, the Dressier Side
The last grid is the Vomero Premium and the Vomero Roam, and it is the one I would pick if you mostly wear sneakers with real clothes rather than gym clothes. The Vomero Premium family reads a little more finished: the Vomero Premium Sneaker in a couple of versions, the Vomero Premium sneakers, the Vomero Premium Qs sneakers, and the Vomero Premium road running shoes. Then there are the Zoom Vomero Roam sneakers, in a few earthy colours from sail and stone to taupe, plum and black, which are the odd ones out and the ones I would look at when the others feel too familiar.
I would not pretend I can tell you how any of these feel on your feet from a photo. What I can tell you is how they sit with an outfit. The Premium pairs have a cleaner, more composed face, so they handle a pleated trouser or a wool coat better than the busier Vomero 5 styles do. Try them with tailoring that is slightly too long, hem breaking over the tongue, and a thin knit on top. The Roam, with its own more rugged shape, is better with a utility jacket, cargo trousers or a long denim skirt.
What I would skip: do not wear any of these with a very short, narrow hem and a thin ankle sock unless you like the shoe to be the whole outfit. Do not skip the fitting-room check either. Runner's World advises leaving about a thumb's width of space between your longest toe and the front of your running shoe, and notes that your longest toe may not be your big toe. Stand up, press down at the front, and see for yourself. And skip buying a pair only because the colorway matched a photo, since your own closet is the better guide.

How I Would Choose a Pair
Choosing between five families starts the same way for me. I start with the outfit I wear most. If it is jeans and a trench, the Zoom Vomero 5 is the easy answer, with its retro running look and the history behind it. If I want something newer and more sculpted, I go to the Vomero 18 or the Vomero Plus. If I dress more in tailoring and wool, the Vomero Premium is the one that sits best there.
Then I do the small tests. Stand in front of a mirror in the trousers you would actually wear. Check the side view. Walk across the room and listen for any slip at the heel. Lace them the way you will lace them every day. And try them late in the day, when your feet are at their fullest.
A good sneaker is a long conversation between your clothes and your habits, and the Vomero line gives you a lot of ways to have it. If you want to keep browsing, I also put together Nike Air Max and Nike x Jacquemus.
