Odissi

Odissi

Odissì is a footwear label built in 2024 by HIM Co., an Italian manufacturer near Venice with about sixty years of shoemaking behind it, as a way to move from private-label production into a brand of its own. Daniele Michetti, a past winner of Vogue Italia's Who Is On Next award who has designed for Stuart Weitzman, Tory Burch and Sergio Rossi, took over as creative director in 2024, shaping the label around a stated idea of Italian craft filtered through global references.

Shoes

The main line leans on the factory's own manufacturing know-how, an unusual advantage for such a young brand since the company behind Odissì has been making shoes for other labels for decades before putting its own name on the box. Michetti's design references, drawn from cities and craft traditions well outside Italy, sit on top of that production base. It reads more assured than most one-year-old labels manage.

More Shoes

A second stretch of the same idea, still filtered through the brand's stated design philosophy of staying rooted in Italian construction while pulling inspiration from elsewhere. Because Odissì is essentially a manufacturer's own label rather than an independent startup, the fit and finish carry an experience most debut shoe brands don't have on day one. Worth watching for where Michetti takes the range next.

Our honest take

Odissì is worth watching precisely because it isn't a designer's vanity project, it's a factory that decided it understood shoes well enough to stop being anonymous. That's a different kind of credibility than a runway pedigree, and pairing it with a genuinely credentialed creative director in Michetti is a smart hedge. Still too new to have a defined identity beyond good execution, but good execution is not nothing.
