ONE/SIZE by Patrick Starrr

ONE/SIZE by Patrick Starrr was founded by the YouTube makeup artist Patrick Starrr, who began posting videos in 2011, and launched in August 2020 with the makeup remover Go Off. The name comes from his realization that makeup, unlike clothes, can truly be one size fits all, and the brand stands for radical inclusivity and full beat glam. This edit gathers On 'Til Dawn setting sprays, blurring powders, primers, foundations, liners, mascara and skin care.

Setting sprays, powders, primers and bases

Patrick Starrr began making YouTube videos in 2011, long before he had a beauty line, and that history is why ONE/SIZE feels like it came from a maker who spent years talking to an audience. The brand launched in August 2020, during the pandemic, with the makeup remover Go Off. The name comes from Starrr's idea that makeup, unlike clothes, can truly be one size fits all, and the whole brand is built on radical inclusivity and full beat glam. The hero is On 'Til Dawn Mattifying Waterproof Setting Spray, which went viral after Starrr jumped into a pool with a full face of makeup. The family now includes the Diamond Icing glitter version, the Bronze Veil version and the Powder Melt Glass setting spray. Ultimate Blurring Setting Powder is the other hero, and the Bouclé Silk airbrushed talc-free finishing powder sits beside it. For base, there are Turn Up the Base Full Beat waterproof liquid foundation and the versatile powder foundation. The primers are the Secure the Blur Makeup Magnet, the mini Secure the Sweat waterproof mattifying primer and the Oil Sucker extreme mattifying alkaline primer. If you want to compare, a story on setting sprays is a good place to begin, and so is powder foundation that looks like skin.

Lips, eyes, cheeks and skin

The second group is full beat in a small bag. The Lip Snatcher duo pairs a hydrating liquid lipstick with a gloss, and the waterproof precision lip liner gives it an edge. For eyes, the Point Made waterproof liquid eyeliner pen and the 24 hour gel eyeliner pencil sit with the Fantasize lifting and lengthening mascara. The Cheek Clapper 3D blush trio palette is the one color piece for cheeks. What I would skip is wearing a heavy waterproof liner with a lip color that is also very dark, since one of them should be the star. The Ultimate setting and baking puff goes with the powders above, and the Oil Sucker liquid blotting paper touch up spray is for the middle of the day. For skin there is the Hydrosculpt hydrating cream moisturizer, the B12 Base Thinner luminous vitamin pearl boosting serum, the mini On 'Til Dawn setting spray with SPF 28 and the Go Off dissolving mist. A mascara story with a family history is good company, and so is a brand story behind turquoise tubes.

How I would wear it

My ONE/SIZE routine would begin with a primer, a liquid foundation and a setting spray, then add liner and the Lip Snatcher duo. The brand has also made limited collections with Disney and with Wicked. I would keep the rest of the routine simple and let one product, probably the setting spray, do the talking. For a lighter day, an everyday makeup look is where I would go.
