Patrick Ta Makeup

Patrick Ta Makeup

Patrick Ta Beauty launched in 2019, founded by celebrity makeup artist Patrick Ta with product specialist Rima Minasyan and entrepreneur Avo Minasyan. It is known for glowy, dimensional makeup, especially the creme-and-powder blush duos in the Major Headlines line, and the stated aim was to help everyone build confidence through beauty. This edit gathers blush and contour duos, Major Skin foundation and concealer, Major Dimension eyeshadow palettes, lip glosses and lipsticks, and Major Glow body oils.

Blush duos, base makeup and brushes

Patrick Ta Beauty launched in 2019, and the story starts with the artist himself. Ta's big break was working with Gigi Hadid, which led to more celebrity, musician and model clients and to meeting his co-founder Rima Minasyan. Together with Rima and entrepreneur Avo Minasyan, the team worked on the brand for about two years before launch, and the about page says it was founded to empower everyone to build confidence through beauty. The signature is a glowy, dimensional face. The Major Headlines Double-Take creme and powder blush duo is the one the name is built around, with the Transition blurring under eye blush duo and the Liquid Transition brightening blush as its relatives. The Major Sculpt creme contour and powder bronzer duo and the Major Glow translucent highlighter duo build the shape. For skin, the Major Skin luminous foundation, the Soft Blur brightening concealer and the creme foundation and finishing powder duo make the base, and a row of dual-ended brushes and the 5-in-1 blending sponge handle the blending. For a deeper look at the formats, my cream or powder blush guide explains which one to pick, and foundation by finish covers the base.

Eyeshadow palettes, brows and liner

The eye side came in June 2021 with the Major Dimension collection, which expanded the line into eyeshadow. The Major Dimension Essential Artistry Edit palette, the Dream Date edit palette and the Major Dimension III matte palette are the full palettes, and the Eye Illusion duo is the pared back choice. The Major Dimension Precision gel eyeliner, the Major Brow defining pencil and the dual-ended eyeshadow and brow brushes complete a short, workable routine. A practical test: choose one palette and keep a single brush for the crease, since that is what makes a dimensional eye look finished, not messy. What I would skip is a matte palette with a heavy gel liner on a day when you also want a bold lip, because the eye starts to compete. For a longer look at palettes and brushes together, see my palette and brush guide.

Lips, body and glow

The last group moves from the face to everything else. The lips offer a lot of finishes: the Major Headlines Matte Suede lipstick, the Silky Lip Creme, the Monochrome Moment precision lip crayon, the Major Glow lip shine, the Major Volume plumping lip gloss and the Major Glow softening lip masque. The Major Sculpt Shape and Shade anywhere artistry stick is the touch-up piece. The body line follows the same glow idea, with the Major Glow high shine skin perfecting body creme, the nourishing bronzing body oil, the high shine nourishing body oil, the Major Glow balm and a hair and body fragrance mist. For glossy ideas, this lip gloss guide has a few similar finishes, and the body oils edit rounds out the body side.

The pieces I would build around

If I were building a Patrick Ta bag, I would pick one blush duo, one foundation or concealer, a Major Dimension palette and a single lip. That mirrors how the founder started: a working makeup artist who wanted people to feel confident, building a brand from the face outward. The glow idea carries through the cheeks, the lids, the lips and finally the body, which makes the whole thing easy to follow one step at a time.
