Reformation Black Friday 2026: Coats to Buy Early, Denim and Tops to Wait On

Reformation Black Friday 2026: Coats to Buy Early, Denim and Tops to Wait On

Reformation Black Friday history, from the 25% off sitewide sales of 2024 and 2025, plus the dresses, knits, jeans, tops and coats worth watching. I would plan around last year's pattern and keep a short list.

What last year's sale tells us

Reformation Black Friday is a short, predictable event, and last year's version is the best guide we have. In 2025 the brand ran 25% off sitewide from November 25 to December 1. Harper's Bazaar noted that prices did not drop any further over the holiday weekend, and that sitewide sales like this are seldom seen outside Black Friday. The year before, in 2024, it was the same 25% off the entire site from November 26 to December 2, and it applied in stores too. If 2026 follows that pattern, the sale lands around Friday, November 27 and Cyber Monday, November 30. That is a pattern, not a promise. If you want to keep going, Aritzia Black Friday Sale 2026: Plan for the Super Puff is the one I would read next.

The brand itself began with a founder who was already selling repurposed vintage dresses in Los Angeles. Yael Aflalo set up Reformation in 2009 after a trip to China where, in her words, she was crying and felt sad about the pollution caused by the fashion industry. No manufacturer would make small runs for her, so she hired a cutter and a sewer and made the clothes in LA. I like that origin because it explains the whole label: dresses first, a point of view on waste second.

So the Reformation Black Friday shopping list should start where the brand started. The Lela midi in Relic has lace trim along the sweetheart neckline and a gently flared skirt, and it is the one I would pair with tights and a leather jacket in November. The Nomi in Sangre is a velvet bow party dress in a deep siren red, made for December. The Frinn mock neck maxi in Mole is soft knit with short dolman sleeves, the easy one for a long dinner. The Camila in Evergreen has a handkerchief hem.

A practical tip: decide your size and color now and keep the dress on a watch list, so the sale is a decision you have already made.

Cashmere and wool knits, now or later

Reformation says several of these sweaters use recycled cashmere, and that matters for how you shop them. The Cove oversize crewneck in Pear is a cashmere blend that uses predominantly recycled cashmere with a little resilient wool, and the Aria turtleneck in Husky is recycled cashmere and recycled wool. Check the fiber tag on any knit before you decide, because a blend and a pure cashmere will wear differently.

The Clara cardigan in Dark Pine multi stripe and the Bloom V-neck in black are the two layering pieces I would watch. Both can be worn alone or over a slip dress, and the Bloom mixes recycled and virgin cashmere. The Lian crewneck in Cafe multi stripe is fine-gauge, fitted and slightly cropped, so it sits well under a high-waist jean. The Jo oversized wool sweater in mid gray has dropped shoulders and a rolled crewneck, the slouchy one for weekends.

What is worth buying now: the neutrals, black and gray, because they are the easiest to wear all winter. What is worth waiting for: the louder shades like the Jadey in Chianti, a choice that can sit on your list a few weeks. In 2025 the sale ran 25% off across the site, so any knit you have been watching is a reasonable candidate. I went deeper on a related idea in Sephora Black Friday 2026: Gift Sets to Buy Early and Tools Worth the Wait.

The fitting-room test: pull the cuff and the hem gently and let go. Rib that springs back is a good sign. Rub the inside of the elbow for pilling.

What I would skip: the semi-sheer Soren alpaca blend in Barley if you want one sweater for office days, because it needs something underneath.

Collage of everyday outfits built around Reformation Black Friday

High-waist, wide-leg and straight jeans

Reformation's own description says several of these jeans use nonstretch denim from surplus stock, which means less new fabric made. The Cynthia comes in two cuts, relaxed in black and straight leg in Maggiore, and both have a smooth high waist. I would pick the straight leg for boots and the relaxed one for sneakers.

The Blair high-waist bootcut in Melville is the one for knee boots in October, with the bootcut leg breaking over a heel. The Bex wide leg in Mole has stretch and a high waist with widened legs, so it is the more forgiving fit if you sit a lot. The Cary slouchy wide leg in Cleary is a retro, nonstretch cut. The two Val styles are '90s relaxed straights: the baggy distressed one in Pelican is a light-blue wash, and the mid-rise Urchin has a more unusual wash. The Greta in Willamette is low-rise, wide-leg and superstretch.

Now or later: denim is the category I would watch rather than rush. Watch a pair for a few weeks first, and only buy at the start of the sale if you already know the fit.

The fitting-room test: sit down, then crouch. Nonstretch denim should give a little after ten minutes, not bite. Check the rise against your hip bone and the hem against your boots, because a wide leg that drags is a repair job.

What I would skip: the low-rise Greta unless you already know low-rise suits you.

Silk shirts, lace and satin tops

Silk is the reason to look at this group closely. The Avery silk top in Almond has fluttering sleeves and a bateau neckline, and the Raya silk button-up in Siren is fitted and made to go from the office to dinner. The Camilla tie waist silk shirt, also in Almond, has a belted waist that shapes it. Silk usually means hand wash or dry clean, so read the care label before the sale makes a decision for you.

For evenings, the Slyvette satin camisole in Jade Green has a beaded lace bodice and a fringed hem, and the Acacia lace top in black has a scalloped V-neck, three-quarter sleeves and a soft front flounce. The Hetty scoop neck in Deep Red is a clean sleeveless shape that works under a blazer. Picture her in the Eli sheer brown oversized shirt over a camisole and straight jeans, collar open, one chest pocket doing its job.

Now or later: tops are the easiest category to wait on because they are the least tied to one season. If you are buying for the holidays, the Slyvette and the Acacia are the two I would not leave to the last day. The sale ran about a week in both 2024 and 2025.

The buying test: hold the fabric up to a window. Sheer pieces show every seam, so check that the hem lies flat and the buttons sit straight. The Lacie cropped shirt in light gray is a light-reflecting camp collar, easy to wear with trousers.

What I would skip: the Eli sheer shirt if you never layer, because it will not stand alone.

Coats, leather jackets and boots

Outerwear is where I would plan hardest. The Alexa Chung Cassie trench in Chili Mango is a collaboration, with a longline cut, raglan sleeves and a patterned lining. Reformation's 2024 sale did apply to limited collaborations, according to Marie Claire, so it is worth checking whether a collab carries the discount again.

The Veda Harrison leather jacket in Cocoa has a stand collar and zip pockets, and the Veda Luca shearling jacket in Mole is a relaxed suede shearling with showy lapels. Both want a closer look at the stitching and the lining before you commit. The Matilda in Villandry is a cropped woven, vintage-inspired button jacket with a faux-fur collar, and the Joann wool zip in Linen is knit like an oversized sweater with a zipper, the one I would wear over a dress.

The boots are the quietest group. The Remy knee-high in black leather has a square toe and a tall, structured shaft, the Remy flat bootie is its ankle version with a side zip, and the Rosina has a stretch shaft and a low block heel. Put the knee boot on with your jeans and check that the shaft closes at your calf without gapping.

Now or later: buy the coat you will wear most days in the first few days, because a coat is the piece you will use the most. Wait on the boots and the Matilda, which can sit on a watch list a little longer.

What I would skip: the shearling if your winters are mild, because it is heavy for anything above freezing.

How I would not overpay

Start now, a few weeks before the sale. Put the pieces you want on a watch list and note what they cost today, so that on November 27 you can see whether 25% off is a real change or just the usual number. Harper's Bazaar said the prices did not fall further over the 2025 weekend, so there is no reason to panic on Cyber Monday.

Then check whether a code stacks with the sitewide offer, and look at resale for the same dress or jacket. If the piece is pre-owned, read the condition notes and photos before you compare. Last year's pattern is all we have, and I would plan around it with a calm list instead of a rush.

Save anything here in Phia and it will ping you when the price drops (Chrome, iPhone).

Yael Aflalo made her first clothes by hand in LA because nobody would make them for her. I would shop her sale the same way: small, deliberate, and only the pieces I will actually wear.
