Suede Loafers

Soft nap, flat sole, easy morning

Suede Loafers

Suede gives a loafer a quieter finish than polished leather, and it moulds to the foot within a week. Wear them bare in early autumn, then with a ribbed sock once the mornings turn, and keep a brush by the door.

Suede loafers are the pair I reach for when I want something softer than leather. The nap catches the light and gives a plain trouser or skirt a little depth. This edit gathers the most wearable shapes, from slim classics to chunky soles.

Colour, care and everyday wear

Brown and tan suede go with almost everything, while black reads dressier. A quick suede brush and a protector spray before the first wear will keep them looking new. I rotate mine so the nap never wears flat.

Making them part of the outfit

Cuffed trousers and a crisp shirt are all these need. Let the loafer sit just below the hem so the suede shows. The simpler the clothes, the more the shoe stands out.
