Every proportion the trench currently comes in. Long and belted, cropped at the ribs, cut mini, washed soft, kept crisp. The variation matters more than the material because length is what decides whether the thing reads as classic or as a joke on the classic. A camel long coat sits alongside them as the more committed option, for the mornings when ambivalence stops being an option.
Blazers, jackets and a couple of sweaters
The lighter end. Three blazers in different weights, a bomber, a denim contour jacket, a wool jacket that is really a shirt with ambitions. The two sweaters are here because a crewneck under an open blazer is the actual answer most days, and pretending otherwise is how people end up cold. Ecru and pale blue rather than anything darker, which keeps them reading as late summer.

Five trenches in one edit is not a merchandising accident, it is the state of the category. If you already own one you do not need another, and the more useful gap in most wardrobes is the unstructured blazer. Buy the layer you will actually take off at lunch.
