Our honest take
A funnel neck is a construction detail rather than a trend, which is a good sign, because it means the jacket will not look dated in two years the way a printed one would. The bracket that matters most is the middle: the AllSaints Ryder in leather at $649 is the piece we would buy, since a plain leather jacket in a high collar is close to permanently useful and $649 is a fair price for real leather. Below $200 you are buying faux leather, which is fine for a season but will not hold. At the top, the Moncler parka at $2,185 is the only piece bought for warmth rather than shape. If you take one thing away, spend in the middle and buy leather, not the look of it.
