Zimmermann began in Sydney in 1991, founded by sisters Nicky and Simone Zimmermann. The official story says Nicky made dresses in her parents' garage and sold them at Paddington markets, where she could watch customers respond. The label grew from bold original prints and intricate detailing, later combining ready-to-wear with swimwear on the runway. I like that it still gives romantic color a precise, playful silhouette.
