Anine Bing

Anine Bing launched out of a Silver Lake garage in 2012 with roughly ten looks, built on a following the Danish former model and musician had already spent a decade building online. The brand's first real hit, the Charlie boot, arrived within months and did more to get the label into stores than any lookbook could have. What started as a ten-piece capsule is now a full wardrobe built on the same instinct: pare a look down to its most photographable version.

Anine Bing's tees, cashmere sweaters and cropped jackets are the pieces that made the brand's Instagram-era case in the first place: simple enough to repeat constantly, sharp enough that repeating them reads as a uniform rather than a rut. The label built its early following on exactly this kind of single-item styling before it had a full collection to show for it.

Bing and her husband Nico opened with a tight edit of denim-adjacent basics, and the wide-leg trousers and tailored shorts here descend directly from that original ten-look drop.

Straight-leg jeans were part of the founding capsule alongside the Charlie boot, back when the entire brand fit in a Silver Lake garage.

The slip and crepe dresses are a newer expansion, added once the label had the retail footprint (Net-a-Porter, Nordstrom, and eventually its own stores) to support a fuller range beyond the original capsule.

Our honest take

Anine Bing is at its best when it stays close to the ten-piece instinct it launched with, favoring a few sharp basics over a sprawling collection. If you take one thing away, build outward from one strong piece, the way the brand itself did with a boot and a handful of tees.
