Ariana Grande Cloud perfume arrived in 2018 and set the tone for the creamy, whipped, coconut and vanilla gourmand. Here is the rest of her lineup, plus other soft gourmands and hair and body mists that scratch the same itch.

Ariana Grande Cloud launched in fall 2018, with a press release that called it a joyful creation inspired by optimism and hope. It was made with the beauty company behind her earlier scents, and perfumer Clement Gavarry is credited with the composition. Billboard noted at the time that it followed her earlier fragrances Ari, Sweet Like Candy and Moonlight. The bottle was inspired by a natural cloud, and the brief says it has a subtle blue glow.

The Ariana Grande Cloud perfume in Eau de Parfum form is the one to know, and the notes explain the fuss. It opens with lavender blossom, juicy pear and bergamot, moves to a whipped touch of creme de coconut, praline and vanilla orchid, and dries down to sensual musks and creamy woods that feel like cashmere. The family has grown since. Cloud Pink is a fruity floral with dragon fruit, vanilla orchid and amber woods, and Cloud Aurora leans on spun sugar, vanilla glazed petals, blonde woods and amber crystals in a pearlescent bottle. LOVENOTES Plush Vanilla is a vanilla macaron with cashmere woods, while LOVENOTES Pink Woods is the airy, fresh one with jasmine, tonka and cashmere woods. Golden Muse is a warm-solar scent with coconut milk, golden vanilla and amberwood, so it reads sunny instead of sugary. PHLUR Rose Whip is velvety rose and black currant over cashmere wood and musk.

CLEAN RESERVE Whipped Cherry pairs wild cherry and coconut water with praline and vanilla cream. KAYALI VANILLA | 28 is the classic vanilla with vanilla orchid, tonka and amber woods. CYKLAR Modern Patchouli is a roll-on oil with vanilla absolute and coconut water, and it is alcohol free. How to wear them: if a scent is very sweet, wear it on the chest and skip the wrists. Rubbing wrists together can flatten the top notes.

A tip: mist from about a foot away and hold the bottle still, then let it dry before getting dressed. For hair, spray the ends and the brush.

What I would skip: spraying a regular alcohol-based perfume into hair if you can avoid it. Use a product made for hair, like the Gisou, Emi Jay or Kerastase bottles, and keep the mists for the body.

Start by deciding how sweet you actually want to smell. Ariana Grande Cloud sits in the middle, creamy and musky with pear on top.
