Birrot sits between Copenhagen and Seoul and refuses to pick a side. Kyeongmin Kim and Seyoung Hong met in London, moved to Denmark and founded the label there in 2018, naming it after the Korean word for originating from. The clothes are Scandinavian in restraint and Korean in precision
BIRROT

Two cities, one wardrobe
Kim and Hong trained at London College of Fashion and Central Saint Martins, then relocated to Copenhagen because the pace of the city matched how they wanted to work. Production stayed in Korea, in a small workshop the pair visit twice a year.
Shirting as the base layer
The brand describes what it makes as a uniform, and the tops are where that idea is clearest. They are cut to be repeated, layered and worn into the ground rather than photographed once.
Skirts with Korean precision
Where Copenhagen brands tend toward looseness, BIRROT holds a line. The skirts are cleanly drafted and quietly technical, which is the Korean half of the equation showing itself.
Knitwear for the in-between months
Copenhagen weather is famously unromantic, and the knits are built for it. This is the least performative part of the collection and probably the most used.
Jackets that do the work of a coat
The outerwear is scaled for cycling, commuting and moving between work and dinner without a costume change, which is the lifestyle the founders explicitly designed for.
Trousers, finished properly
Small collections, made well, in a workshop the designers know by name. That is the brand's entire production philosophy and the bottoms are where you can feel it.

Our honest take
Copenhagen Fashion Week produces a lot of noise and not much longevity. BIRROT has been at this since 2018 with the same two people making the decisions, and it shows.
