Carolina López Cruz launched Cala de la Cruz in 2018 in Cali, Colombia, with her mother Liliana as partner, after training in textile design at Savannah College of Art and Design and fashion at Istituto Marangoni in Milan. The label runs on bold, illustrative prints and retro-leaning silhouettes made locally by small family workshops in Cali, often to order rather than in bulk.
Cala de la Cruz

Dresses
Cala de la Cruz built its name on resortwear, and the dresses are where the label's hand-drawn, botanical prints get the most room to unfurl. Silhouettes lean retro, all soft curves and easy movement, which tracks with a founder who came up as a textile designer before she was ever a dressmaker. Nothing here is trying to be quiet.
Accessories
The accessories extend the same graphic language in smaller doses, useful if the print-heavy dresses feel like a lot to commit to at once. Cala de la Cruz treats these as an extension of its illustration work rather than an afterthought, which is consistent with how deliberately the label controls its visual identity.
More from the collection
The rest of the edit rounds out the label's resortwear range beyond the headline dresses, still made in Cali by the same small, family-run production the brand has stuck with since 2018. It is a useful place to see how consistent the print language stays across categories.

Our honest take
Cala de la Cruz's strength is that it never pretends to be minimalist, and in a market crowded with quiet resortwear, that is its own kind of clarity. The made-locally, made-to-order approach is a genuine point of difference, not just a line in a press release. It will not suit anyone hunting for restraint, but that is not the assignment here.
