Conner Ives

Conner Ives is the American designer who moved from Bedford, New York to London in 2014, studied at Central Saint Martins, and turned his graduate line into an independent label in 2021, the same year he was named an LVMH Prize finalist. The label runs two tracks side by side: hand-cut demi-couture built from vintage garments and deadstock scarves, and repeatable ready-to-wear made from recycled fabrics in London factories, both circling back to his signature patchworked T-shirt dress, pieced together from four or more secondhand tees he sources himself from UK wholesale warehouses.

Dresses

This is the category Ives built his name on, and it still shows the seams on purpose. The patchworked dress traces back to a bag of T-shirt scraps he found at his aunt's house in New Mexico, and that mash-up logic, mixing graphics from different secondhand tees into one new garment, still governs how the silhouettes here are pieced and finished.

Bags

Bags are a newer expansion for a label that started in dresses, and they carry over the same instinct for repurposed materials rather than treating accessories as an afterthought. Expect the same deadstock-first approach that runs through the rest of the collection, just applied to hardware and structure instead of a torso.

Tops and shirting

Shirting is where the label's two production tracks are easiest to compare side by side: some pieces are one-off demi-couture assembled from found materials, others are repeatable ready-to-wear cut from recycled fabric. Either way, the irregularities of the source material are left visible rather than smoothed out.

More from the collection

Beyond dresses and shirting, this is where the label's range shows, tailoring, outerwear and knitwear built on the same deadstock logic that started with T-shirts. It is also where the brand's political streak surfaces most directly, including pieces descended from the Fall 2025 show that produced the viral Protect the Dolls T-shirt.

Our honest take

Ives earned the sustainability story the hard way, by sourcing materials himself and building two separate production systems rather than slapping a recycled label on business as usual. The patchwork dress can start to feel like a signature the brand leans on, but the LVMH Prize nod and the runway expansion since suggest there is more range here than one T-shirt trick.
