DARKPARK

DARKPARK

Darkpark exists because Inna Gerchikov could not find a pair of jeans she wanted to wear. She spent fifteen years importing Californian denim into Italy, then founded the label in Milan in 2021 with Maurizio Purificato, the Antonia co-founder behind Khrisjoy. It is luxury denim made in the Veneto and worked to precision

A denim obsessive builds her own

Gerchikov moved from Toronto to Italy in 2004 and spent the next decade and a half in the denim trade, which is an unglamorous education and the best possible one. She launched DARKPARK just after the pandemic, betting that denim was about to come back after years in the background. She was right.

Tops that balance the volume

The brand began with trousers, so everything above the waist is designed as a counterweight. The tops are cut close and plain on purpose, because the drama is meant to happen below.

The oversized bottom half

The founding idea was an oversized pant with feminine construction, raw edges and utility pockets, made in Veneto workshops that also serve the major houses. Cargos and wide denim are everywhere now, but very few of them are actually built like this.

Outerwear, added later

Jackets and parkas came after the first few collections, once the brand realised customers wanted the whole silhouette rather than just the trousers. Marco Corso, formerly of Jil Sander, heads the design alongside Gerchikov.

Our honest take

The luxury denim category is crowded with brands that outsource everything but the label. DARKPARK owns the part that matters, which is the fit.
