Donde Esteban

Donde Esteban

Donde Esteban is Esteban Cortázar's resortwear label, built around prints that read like a specific place rather than a generic beach. The label leans into color exactly when most resort collections turn muted and tasteful, betting that a strong print travels better than a safe one. This edit moves from the printed dresses through swim and separates that carry the same palette into daily wear.

The endless-summer dress

Donde Esteban was created by Esteban Cortázar as a resortwear project rooted in Cartagena, Miami, Ibiza and Paris. The dresses carry that geography in their names and surfaces, from Pajaritos y Rosas to Guava Flores, with silk, chiffon and cotton doing most of the practical work. The silhouettes are relaxed enough for heat but specific enough to avoid looking like generic holiday clothing. Wear one with flat sandals and let the print handle the itinerary.

Pack the colour

The label's vivid prints are made in collaboration with Cortázar's father, Colombian artist Valentino Cortázar, so the color is not a seasonal afterthought. The Formentera fringed pareo and the Estrellitas Y Olas recycled triangle bikini carry that print across two very different fabrics, one woven and one knit, and both hold their pattern well in motion. Pareos, coverups and small skirts make this part of the edit feel like a real packing list rather than a mood board. Keep the accessories spare here, because these pieces already arrive with their own horizon line.

Easy pieces, vivid mood

Cortázar has described Donde Esteban as a lifestyle adventure built from the places and people that shaped him, and the separates are the most adaptable expression of that idea. The Pajaritos Y Rosas silk tank and the Estrellitas Y Olas printed straight-leg pants can move from a hot street to a late dinner without changing anything else in the outfit. Shirts and a graphic T-shirt round out the group for anyone who wants the print without committing to a full look. Start with one print, then add a plain texture if the outfit needs a pause.

Our honest take

Donde Esteban is unapologetically sunny, which is useful when most resortwear tries to be tasteful first and memorable second. The strongest pieces are the ones that look like they belong to a place, not just a season, and the dresses do that most convincingly. Swim and separates work best as a supporting cast rather than the main event, since the print itself is already doing most of the work. If you take one thing away, buy the piece that gives your existing holiday wardrobe a new setting, then stop there.
