The Hair Pieces And Bridal Jewellery

Jewelry

Jewelry is the newer half of the business, launched in 2017, more than a decade after the headpieces that made Behr's name. It carries over the same sculptural instinct from her art-school training, treating a necklace or an earring the way she once treated a headband, as a small built object rather than a simple adornment.

More Jewelry

Look here for the pieces that lean further into texture and form over straightforward sparkle, the kind of detail that comes from someone who trained in sculpture before she ever trained in jewelry. It is a newer category for the brand but not a casual one.

Accessories

This is the category Behr actually built her name on: hand-finished hair pieces made in a category that barely existed at a luxury level before she started making a case for it in 2005. Bergdorf Goodman and the old Henri Bendel were early believers, well before any television show made the argument for her.

More from the collection

The rest of the edit rounds out two decades of a brand that started as one designer with a sculpture degree and a hunch about headbands, and now dresses red carpets and awards-season front rows regularly. It is worth remembering how recently hair accessories were considered a drugstore category, not a design one.

Our honest take

Jennifer Behr gets credit for genuinely creating a category rather than just occupying one, and the hand-finished construction still tracks back to her original small New York workshop rather than a scaled-up factory story. The newer jewelry is good but it is still, fairly, playing catch-up to how distinctive the headpieces are.
