Keane

Keane

Keane is the Brooklyn label started in 2017 by Colin Keane Lynch, who trained in glassblowing in Venice as a teenager and later at Rhode Island School of Design before a stint working retail in fashion, where he began experimenting with glass on the side around 2012. The brand still makes its jewelry and objects the same way, hand-blown glass paired with precious metals, in a studio near the Manhattan Bridge, with collections that have referenced everything from his father's home county of Kerry in Ireland to the psychedelic revolution and Japanese wagashi sweets.

Jewelry

Every piece here starts on a torch, not a cast, which is the whole reason Lynch left a fashion retail job in 2017 to make this his full-time work. The material's unpredictability, its color shifts, its irregularities, is treated as a feature of the design rather than something to be engineered out.

Our honest take

A jewelry label built on a genuinely rare skill set, hand-blown glass jewelry is not common, and Lynch's decade-plus of training before he ever sold a piece backs that up. The color-forward, novelty-adjacent look will not suit everyone's rotation, but as a specific, well-executed idea it holds up better than most trend-driven glass jewelry on the market.
