KHEPRI

KHEPRI

Reema Chopra founded Khepri Jewels in New York in 2023 after leaving a career that ran from private banking at CIBC to years of diamond wholesaling and gemstone sourcing on the city's diamond district, and getting GIA-certified as a gemologist along the way. The brand is named for the ancient Egyptian sun god of rebirth, and that idea is literal in its origin story: Chopra's first meaningful piece came from repurposing a friend's engagement ring into a necklace after a divorce.

Jewelry

This grid leans on what Chopra is known for in the trade before she ever had her own label: an eye for fancy color diamonds and gemstones that most jewelers pass over in favor of standard colorless stones traded like a commodity. It is a fine jewelry collection shaped by someone who spent years sourcing, not just designing.

More Jewelry

A second pass through the range keeps circling the brand's founding idea, that a piece of jewelry can mark a transformation rather than just an occasion, which traces directly back to the reworked engagement ring that started the label. The scarab-headed sun god Khepri, whose name literally means to come into existence, is the reference point for that framing, not just a decorative logo.

Our honest take

A brand launched in 2023 does not have decades of archive to lean on, so Khepri's real credibility comes from Chopra's years in diamond wholesaling and her GIA training rather than from longevity. Our honest take is that the fancy color diamond focus is a genuinely useful point of difference in a category that increasingly defaults to lab grown white stones, and it is worth watching how the label builds on it as it matures past its founding story.
