Loren Stewart started in 2009 when Rachel Loren began melting down her own vintage gold jewelry to make pieces she could not find anywhere else, later joined by sisters Satya and Annah Stewart. The label built its identity on that idea of transformation, turning safety pins, ID tags, and utilitarian hardware into fine gold and gemstone pieces. Everything is still handmade by small teams of artisans in downtown Los Angeles and a family factory in Italy rather than mass produced.

The safety pin, reworked in gold
Rachel Loren's original idea was simple: melt down vintage gold and rebuild it into something more personal. That upcycling instinct shows up now in pieces like the Safety Pin earrings, which take an everyday object and recast it in 14-karat gold with pave sapphires or diamonds.

Chains and pendants with some grit
The necklace range leans into the brand's downtown LA roots, mixing barbell chains and ID-tag-style pendants with softer beaded and pearl styles. Every piece is still made by hand in the same Los Angeles jewelry district studio the label started in back in 2009.

Rings and the odd bracelet
Signet-style rings and a couple of stacking bracelets round things out, made from the same responsibly sourced metals and stones as the rest of the line. It is a small but deliberate selection rather than an attempt to cover every category.
Our honest take
Loren Stewart earns its price point by making familiar objects, a safety pin, a dog tag, a bolo tie, actually worth wearing as fine jewelry. If you take one thing away, start with a single Safety Pin earring rather than a pair: it is designed to be worn alone or stacked into your own ear curation.
