A matching knit set is the most comfortable way to travel while still looking put together. This edit includes a cashmere set, hoodies and sweatshirts, soft track pants and a few airport essentials. Each piece also works on its own, so everything earns its space in a suitcase.
Lounge Sets and Soft Separates for Travel Days

The Travel-Day Uniform
Choose a soft top and bottom in the same tone, then add sneakers. Arch4's brown ribbed Elsa cashmere sweater and pants set does it in one go, or pair Dries Van Noten's gray zip-up hoodie with Victoria Beckham's light gray wool and cashmere track pants and Autry's ecru Reelwind sneakers.
Hoodies and Sweatshirts
A hoodie or sweatshirt is the top you will reach for on a long flight. Citizens of Humanity's dark gray fleece sweatshirt and Leset's white open-knit Mae hoodie are the most relaxed. Éterne's cream cashmere hoodie and Rick Owens' beige wool-blend Hun hoodie feel a little more luxurious.
Track Pants and Soft Trousers
Wide or tapered, a soft pant is kinder on a long journey than stiff denim. Ann Demeulemeester's black Anneke pants and Max Mara's stone Olmo pants are wide-leg jersey that looks like tailoring. Suzie Kondi's turquoise velour sweatpants add colour, and Eres' black Koch track pants are neat and tapered.
Cashmere Knits
A cashmere layer keeps you warm on cold planes and trains. Nili Lotan's black Sona sweater and Allude's green ribbed turtleneck go with any of the pants above. La Ligne's light blue cardigan is easy to take on and off, and Khaite's camel Leni sweater has a short, boxy shape.
For the Airport
Finish with pieces that make the airport easier. The adidas Originals Paris sneakers in beige are light and low-profile, and Demellier's large Stockholm tote has room for the essentials. The Row's beige Caspian cap and Loewe's tortoiseshell Coil sunglasses help after an overnight flight.
Our honest take
Travel clothes should be comfortable for hours but still feel like you when you land. If you take one thing away, let it be that a set in one colour looks intentional even when it is basically loungewear. Cashmere and jersey both pack well, and a zip-up layer makes temperature changes easy to manage. We would skip anything tight at the waist for a long flight, and very pale colours if you are travelling with coffee. Keep the accessories simple, with one cap, one pair of sunglasses and one tote that fits under the seat. Once you arrive, most of these pieces work just as well for a slow weekend at home.
