Rebecca Hessel Cohen, formerly a fashion and beauty editor at Cosmopolitan, started LoveShackFancy in 2013 after designing her own halter wedding dress and realizing she wanted to keep making things like it. The label's whole visual language, ruffles, florals, puffed sleeves, vintage-leaning silhouettes, grew out of that single dress and a first capsule sold out of the trunk of her car before any store carried it.

Dresses
Dresses are the category the entire brand was built on, tracing straight back to the halter dress Cohen made for her own wedding when she couldn't find bridesmaid options she liked. The romantic, vintage-inflected silhouette that came out of that one piece is still the throughline here, ruffles and all. It is the most literal expression of the brand's founding idea in the whole edit.

Tops and shirting
Tops carry the same puffed-sleeve, floral vocabulary in a more everyday format, useful for anyone who wants the aesthetic without committing to a full dress. Cohen built the label first through pop-ups and trunk shows in the Hamptons before wholesale accounts picked it up, and the pieces still read like they were designed to be worn out, not just photographed. Vintage references stay legible without tipping into costume.

Skirts
Skirts extend the same romantic, feminine-maximalist point of view into separates, which matters for a brand that only opened its first freestanding store, in Sag Harbor, in 2018 after years of wholesale-only distribution. The silhouettes lean full and playful rather than minimal, consistent with the brand's whole identity. Good for building an outfit around rather than wearing head to toe.

Knitwear
Knitwear softens the brand's usual ruffle-heavy signature into something a little quieter, though the palette and detailing still trace back to the same florals-and-lace vocabulary Cohen established with that original dress. It's proof the label extends beyond party dressing into daily rotation. Less obviously the brand's signature look at a glance, but still recognizably hers.
Trousers and shorts
Trousers and shorts are a newer stretch for a label that started purely with dresses, part of its expansion from a single wedding-inspired capsule into a full lifestyle brand spanning fashion, beauty and home. The prints and trims stay consistent with the rest of the range even as the silhouette shifts to separates. A practical entry point for shoppers who find the dresses too much.
More from the collection
The rest of the edit rounds out a brand that, in just over a decade, went from a trunk sale in the Hamptons to a global name with stores well beyond its Sag Harbor original. Collaborations with the likes of Gap and Pottery Barn have widened the aesthetic's reach, but the core references stay the same florals and vintage femininity. This is where those references show up in the smaller categories.
Our honest take
LoveShackFancy turned a single wedding dress into a mood, and it has been remarkably disciplined about not diluting that mood even as it expanded into beauty, home and kids' clothing. The ruffles-and-florals signature is either exactly your thing or entirely not, there isn't much middle ground, which is a braver bet than most lifestyle brands make. Its trunk-of-the-car origin story is unusually well documented for how quickly the label scaled.
