Marie Adam-Leenaerdt

Marie Adam-Leenaerdt is the Brussels designer who went from La Cambre graduate to Paris Fashion Week fixture in about a year. She trained at Givenchy and Balenciaga under Demna, launched her label in 2023, and was an LVMH Prize and ANDAM finalist by 2024. In July 2026 she won the ANDAM Grand Prize outright.

One meeting, one month, one show

In January 2023 she sat down in Paris with Base Design's Dimitri Jeurissen, show producer Etienne Russo and publicist Lucien Pages. By the end of the conversation a show was scheduled for the following month, and she rebuilt her graduate collection to fill it.

Familiar clothes, made strange

Her method is to take an entirely ordinary garment and shift one thing about it until you have to look twice. It reads as dry humour rather than shock, which is a very Belgian way to be conceptual.

Our honest take

Three years old, on the official Paris schedule, and holding three hundred thousand euros of ANDAM money with a year of mentoring from Ami's Alexandre Mattiussi. The industry has already decided about this one.
