Mason and Books

Mason and Books

Jamie Books, a New York-based designer with roughly fifteen years in luxury accessories, launched Mason and Books in 2021 after a handful of pieces she made for herself, including a bow ring and a bow pendant, sold out once she posted them online. She named the label for her children, pairing her daughter's middle name with her son's initials, and built the collection around whimsical, colorful motifs rather than conventional fine-jewelry staples.

Jewelry

Books spent years designing accessories for other labels before she ever put her own name on anything, and that technical background shows in how deliberately these pieces are put together despite their playful subject matter. Bows and bug motifs recur because they were literally inspired by her own kids. This group is a good look at that mix of craft and sentiment.

More Jewelry

A second wall of the line makes the case that Mason and Books isn't a one-idea brand built around a single viral ring. Since debuting in 2021, Books has kept expanding into color and stone work while holding onto the same family-driven starting point. These pieces round out that range.

Our honest take

Mason and Books benefits from having an origin story that's actually true to the product: a jewelry-industry veteran making pieces for her own children first, and a business second. The label is at its most convincing when it stays whimsical rather than trying to look like a conventional fine-jewelry house. This edit leans into that personality, which is the right call.
