Oakcha, the Viral Vanilla, and the Designer Scents Around It

Oakcha is the New York fragrance brand that sells every scent as an extrait and says openly which designer perfumes inspired some of them. Here is its viral vanilla next to the sweet, floral and woody scents in the same family.

Oakcha is a New York-based fragrance brand with a simple pitch: every scent is sold as an extrait de parfum at 30 percent fragrance oil, sourced from France, and the catalog runs past 70 scents. It is open about which designer fragrances some of them are inspired by, which is refreshingly direct in a category that usually hides it. That Girl Viral Vanilla was made with the TikTok fragrance creator Paul Fino, who says it took about nine months, and it layers caramel swirl, coconut milk, tonka, honey, sugared white musk, amber and marshmallow over vanilla. The brand planned to enter Ulta stores in August 2026, with more doors by October. For comparison, Kilian Hennessy, of the cognac family, founded Kilian Paris in 2007 with refillable bottles, and Love, Don't Be Shy pairs orange blossom with vanilla. Mona Kattan's Kayali makes Vanilla Candy Rock Sugar with candied pear, and Miu Miu, which Miuccia Prada founded in 1993 and named for her childhood nickname, makes Miutine with strawberry and vanilla.

Florals with a warm base

Amandine Clerc-Marie built Burberry Goddess around three vanillas at different stages, with lavender, ginger and cocoa, and it is the house's first refillable fragrance. Gucci's Flora Gorgeous Orchid, by Marie Salamagne, is the fourth Flora scent and pairs a vanilla duo with orchid, in a bottle using a 1966 illustration by Vittorio Accornero. Carolina Herrera's Good Girl Blush, from the line that began in 2016 with the stiletto bottle, uses vanilla and ylang ylang from Madagascar and the Comoros. Rabanne's Million Gold for Her comes from the house that launched 1 Million in a gold ingot bottle in 2008.

Woods, musk and coffee, and the skip

Tom Ford's Santal Blush wraps cinnamon around Australian sandalwood, and Vanilla Sex is the brand's frankest take on the note, with sandalwood and jasmine. Prada's Paradoxe is a warm floral of neroli, amber and white musk, and Yves Saint Laurent's Black Opium Le Parfum adds coffee to vanilla, from the house whose first fragrance, a green chypre called Y, came out in 1964. What I would skip is blind buying a full bottle off a viral video. Order a sample or visit a counter, because sweet gourmand notes read very differently on different skin. A small decant lasts long enough to know.

Wearing a sweet scent

Spray once on the neck and once on the wrist, then leave it. Layer over an unscented lotion so it lasts. Sweet scents are loudest in heat, so go lighter in summer. Store bottles in a drawer, not the bathroom. Give each one a full day on skin before you choose, since the drydown is where vanilla shows its character. If you want to keep browsing, I also put together Hypnotic Poison Dior and the Vanilla Scents That Followed It and Ariana Grande Cloud Perfume and Other Creamy Vanilla Scents.
