Pink and chocolate brown is the softest way to wear pink in fall. These four outfits put pale pink knits, a silk skirt, a mini dress and a shirt with brown corduroy, cashmere, shearling and suede. The brown keeps the pink grown up.
Pink and Chocolate Brown Outfits to Try This Fall

Pantone's Color of the Year for 2025 was Mocha Mousse, a warm brown the company tied to cacao, chocolate and coffee. Brown had been creeping back into closets for a while by then, and pink turned out to be its best partner, the way a pink frosting looks right on a chocolate cake.
The reason it works is contrast without clash. Chocolate is dark and warm, pale pink is light and a little cool, so each one makes the other look cleaner. I like it best when the brown is the deep, almost black kind and the pink is soft, more ballet slipper than bubblegum.
A quick test: try a pink sweater with the darkest brown thing you own, even if it is a belt. If the pink looks less sweet, the pairing is for you.

Start With One Piece of Each
Gabriela Hearst's Leonora bag is baby pink suede with a top handle, and it looks best with a brown coat. Jia Jia's 14-karat gold necklace has a pink opal that sits at the neck of any brown knit. For brown, Manolo Blahnik's Hironu ankle boots are chocolate suede on a low heel, and The Row's Geo belt is dark brown suede. Any one of them with jeans gets you started.
A Pink Knit, Brown Trousers
&Daughter's ribbed wool sweater is a pastel pink mélange, and it goes over Ssstein's brown corduroy wide-leg pants. Christian Louboutin's Fannylove knee boots are chocolate suede, which you will see once the pant leg moves, and Demellier's New York tote is a big brown suede bag that holds everything. This is the outfit I would wear the most.
Chocolate Knit, a Pink Skirt
Joseph's Lily sweater is a brown cashmere blend, and it is the one to tuck into Rodarte's draped silk-crepe midi skirt in soft pink. The skirt moves when you walk. Manolo Blahnik's BB 90 pumps in pink tulle and satin make it an evening outfit, and Lizzie Fortunato's New Bloom earrings add more pink with glass and a little turquoise.
How to wear it: tuck the front of the sweater into the skirt and leave the back loose.
The Pink Dress, a Brown Shearling
Magda Butrym's mini dress is pink cotton and silk with floral appliqués, a summer dress on its own. Nour Hammour's Cameron jacket is cropped brown shearling, and it ends at the waist, so the dress still shows. Aquazzura's Sellier knee boots are tan leather, and Maryam Nassir Zadeh's Birthday tote repeats the pink in leather.
What I would skip: pink tights. Bare legs or sheer black with knee boots keep the dress from looking too sweet.
A Pink Shirt, a Brown Maxi Skirt
Polo Ralph Lauren's cotton and silk-blend shirt is a clean pink that looks like an oxford from far away. Anna Sui's appliquéd maxi skirt is a textured brown that reaches the ankle. Saint Laurent's Le Loafer in brown suede and Cult Gaia's Lanterna bucket bag in brown wood beads finish it, so the only pink is the shirt.
Let the Brown Be Dark
The darker the brown, the better this pairing looks. Chocolate and espresso make pink look fresh. A lighter tan can make the two blur together, so keep tan to shoes and bags. If you already own a brown coat or boots, the pink is the piece to buy, and a knit or a shirt near your face is the easiest place to start.
