Savette

Savette

Amy Zurek founded Savette in New York in 2020, after studying art history and fashion design at Parsons, then working at The Row and building Khaite's handbag line from scratch alongside founder Cate Holstein. She named the label after her mother's maiden name and built its design language around two women, her mother's classic taste in leather goods and her grandmother's eye for sculptural jewelry.

Bags

Savette's bags lean toward hard, sculptural shapes rendered in soft leather, an approach Zurek honed first at The Row and then building out Khaite's accessories from nothing. Vogue UK called the label's debut design the anti-it-bag on arrival, which was less a knock than a description of how deliberately unflashy the shapes are. These pieces prize form and craft over logo recognition.

More Bags

A further grouping from the same design world, still working through the two matriarchs Zurek has cited as her real reference points, one classically chic, one drawn to modernist sculpture. That tension between classic and sculptural shows up as clean, rounded silhouettes rather than anything overtly trend-driven. It reads as a young brand with an unusually clear point of view already.

Our honest take

Savette arrived with real credentials, an accessories designer who had already helped build one major handbag line before starting her own, and it shows in how resolved the shapes feel for a label still in its early years. It is a quieter kind of newness than the industry usually rewards with instant hype. That restraint is precisely what makes it worth watching.
