The SolaWave mask came after the brand's 2020 red light wand, and it now covers the face and eyes in three-minute sessions. Here are eight SolaWave devices and serums, and eight more LED masks and tools I compared them with.
SolaWave Mask Picks, From a 2020 Wand to Full-Face Red Light

A Small Wand, Then the Masks
SolaWave launched in 2020 with one product, a handheld wand, and Vogue names Andrew Silberstein as its founder. The wand paired red light at 630 nanometers with warmth, massage and a gentle current, and it was small enough to live next to your moisturizer. The masks came later. Vogue describes the Wrinkle Retreat mask as using four wavelengths, amber, red, deep red and near-infrared, in a three-minute session, and the brand says it is FDA-cleared.
Here is the honest part. The American Academy of Dermatology says some studies show results from red light, from subtle to noticeable, but more research is needed, and FDA clearance is not proof that a device works. Harvard Health makes a similar point: the science is real, the changes are slow, and the right dose is still unclear. So a SolaWave mask is a slow habit, not a quick fix.
That is also why the mask shape matters. A mask sits on your whole face while you read or answer email, so it is easier to use every day than a wand you have to move by hand.
The first grid is SolaWave, from the masks and wand to the serums made to use with light. The second grid is eight other LED masks and devices I would compare them with. My tip: use any mask on clean, dry skin, keep your eyes closed, and take a photo in the same light each week so you can judge the change honestly.
Eight SolaWave Devices and Serums
Wrinkle Retreat Pro Light Therapy Face Mask is the newest mask here, with four wavelengths at once and a three-minute session, and it has only a few reviews so far. Eye Recovery Pro is a flexible silicone mask just for the eye area, with red, far-red and near-infrared light, also for three minutes. It is the one I would pick if fine lines around the eyes are your main concern.
The 4-in-1 Radiant Renewal Skincare Wand is the most reviewed SolaWave product in this edit and the one that started the brand, with red light, galvanic current, warmth and massage. The brand suggests at least five minutes a day. Radiant Renewal 2-in-1 Mini is the compact, collapsible version for travel, and it shuts off on its own after 12 minutes.
The LightBoost line is the skin care side. The Wand Activating Serum gives the wand glide, the Face and Neck Serum and Rich Cream are for daily use and during light sessions, and the Eye Cream is for dark circles and puffiness.
What I would skip: the whole set on day one. Start with one device and one serum, and add the rest only if you are still using the first after a month.

Eight More LED Masks and Tools
Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare DRx SpectraLite FaceWare Pro is the most reviewed device in this edit, an FDA-cleared mask for wrinkles and blemishes in three minutes. It is the one to compare with the masks in the first grid if you also get breakouts. The same brand's LipWare Pro is a small device just for the lines around the mouth.
HigherDOSE Red Light Face Mask is flexible silicone and FDA-cleared, and the HigherDOSE Neck Enhancer covers the neck and chest with red and near-infrared light. Omnilux Contour is a red and near-infrared mask with a high rating from a small number of reviews. Shark CryoGlow adds cooling under the eyes, which feels good on puffy mornings.
NuFACE Trinity+ is a different kind of tool, microcurrent with a red light wrinkle attachment, for people who want a lifted look along the jaw. Nooance Elite X600 is a supple silicone mask with 600 light beams.
If you are choosing between a full mask and a smaller device, think about where you want change first. Most people start with the eyes or the mouth and never need the full face.
What I would skip: switching devices every few weeks. Light therapy needs steady use, so pick the one you will actually wear and give it three months.

A Slow Habit, Not a Quick Fix
I think a SolaWave mask makes sense if you like rituals and will stick with one for months. Start with the Eye Recovery Pro or the wand, since they fit into a day more easily, and move to the full mask if you keep it up. If breakouts are part of the picture, compare the Dr. Dennis Gross mask. Consistency matters more than which device you choose, so keep it somewhere you will see it every night. Keep your expectations modest, wear sunscreen every day, and remember that red light works slowly, if it works for you at all.
