State Property

State Property is the Singaporean fine jewelry label started in 2015 by married couple Afzal Imram, trained in industrial design at the National University of Singapore, and Lin Ruiyin, trained in contemporary jewelry design at Central Saint Martins in London. They funded their first collection through commission work before launching properly, won Emerging Accessories Designer of the Year at the Singapore Fashion Awards in 2017, and landed their first major celebrity placement in 2018 when Nicole Kidman wore their earrings to a film premiere.

Jewelry

The architectural, geometry-first design language traces directly back to the founders' training, one in industrial design, one in fine jewelry, and it shows in pieces that read as engineered as much as decorative. Working mostly in 18K gold with natural diamonds and colored stones, the label treats permanence as the actual design brief rather than a marketing line.

Our honest take

Two designers with no family jewelry background built an independent Singaporean label into something worn by Michelle Obama and Taylor Swift within about a decade, which is a genuinely unusual trajectory for an industry this insular. The geometric, minimalist style will read as cold to anyone who wants ornate or classic jewelry, but on its own terms it is distinctive and consistent.
