The Shark Facial Pro Glow, and Why Its Reviews Split in Two

The Shark Facial Pro Glow promises a spa-style facial at home, and the reviewers who tried it could not agree on whether it delivers. Here is the system, its refills and the devices I would compare it with, from LED masks to microcurrent.

Magazine-style product test page with five cut-out products and a best-for note on each: Shark Beauty Shark FacialPro Glow Glow-Boosting At-Home Facial System; Shark Beauty Shark CryoGlow Under-Eye Cooling + LED Anti-Aging Red Light & Skin Clearing Mask; NUFACE FIX MicroWand Microcurrent Device; Omnilux Contour Face Antiaging Red and Near Infrared LED Mask; Shark Beauty Shark Depuffi Instant Hot + Cold Contrast Therapy

From Vacuums to Facials

Shark was a vacuum brand long before it was a beauty brand. Its first hair tool, the HyperAIR dryer, arrived in 2021, and the FlexStyle followed in 2022. Skin care came next, first with the CryoGlow LED mask and then with the FacialPro Glow, a hydro-powered facial system that the brand says delivers ten benefits in ten minutes.

The Shark Facial Pro Glow runs on two formulas made for it: Derm Detox, an AHA and BHA exfoliating gel, and Hydro Infuse, a BHA hydrator. SharkNinja says both were developed in a Korean lab for this routine. In December 2025 the company announced that Shark had become the number one skin care facial device brand in the US less than a year after entering the category, which is its own claim.

The reviews are the interesting part. At Elle, the tester wrote, "I literally watched the serum diffuse into my pores and boost my glow instantaneously." At Wirecutter, Neha Tandon wrote, "Instead of the promised land, I found too many steps for too few benefits," and noted that her first try took 25 minutes, while Shark says a session takes about ten.

Both can be true. It is a real machine with a real learning curve.

The first grid is the Shark system, its pink version, the refills and a few tools for the same routine. The second grid is the other devices I would compare it with. My tip: do your first session on a quiet evening, not the night before an event, so you learn the steps without rushing.

The System, the Refills and Its Helpers

The Shark FacialPro Glow combines water extraction, exfoliation, hydration and hot and cold contrast, and it comes with four extraction tips. The version in Pink is the same system in a different color, with no reviews yet, so compare what comes in each box before you choose. The Replenishment Set is the refill, with 20 mL of Derm Detox and 80 mL of Hydro Infuse.

Shark CryoGlow is the brand's LED mask, with red, blue and infrared light plus cooling under the eyes. Shark Depuffi is the hot and cold tool that pairs with the facial, shaped like a gua sha stone for the jaw and under the eyes, and it also works on its own as a morning depuffer with three hot and three cold settings.

Three tools from other brands fit the same routine. Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Pro Facial Steamer uses micro-steam in as little as nine minutes, a gentle way to soften skin first. The DERMAFLASH sonic dermaplaning tool takes off peach fuzz and dead skin, and it is best used on a separate night. CANOPY Portable Humidifier is the quiet add-on, for keeping skin comfortable at your desk or bedside after all that exfoliation.

What I would skip: dermaplaning and a full FacialPro Glow session on the same night. Both exfoliate, and doing them together is a lot for most skin. Space them a few days apart.

Other Devices to Compare

If the FacialPro Glow feels like too many steps, these devices each do one thing. THOME The Glow is the best rated device here, a dual-frequency ultrasound tool with three modes for firmness, radiance and hydration. NuFACE has two. The FIX is a slim microcurrent wand for under the eyes, lip lines and brows, and Trinity+ is the full-face microcurrent device, FDA cleared, with a targeted attachment for the brows, eyes and lips.

The LED masks split by style. Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare DRx SpectraLite FaceWare Pro is FDA cleared, targets wrinkles and blemishes in three minutes, and has the most reviews in this grid. HigherDOSE Red Light Face Mask is flexible silicone with three straps and no cord. Omnilux Contour has 132 red and near-infrared LEDs, and Therabody TheraFace Mask has 648 lights with three settings on a nine-minute cycle.

Shani Darden Skin Care Facial Sculpting Wand uses sound waves aimed at crow's feet and nasolabial lines, for a firmer, smoother look in the spots where lines show first.

What I would skip: starting an LED mask and a microcurrent device in the same month. Pick one, use it as often as the brand directs for a month, and only then decide whether you need the other.

A Facial That Rewards Practice

I think the Shark FacialPro Glow suits someone who already loves a facial and wants one every week at home. If you want a simpler routine, an LED mask or a microcurrent wand is easier to stick with. Give yourself three or four sessions before you judge it, because the first one is always the slowest and the steps get quicker with practice. Both reviewers were right about something: it can make skin glow, and it is also a project.
