TheraFace Mask Glo, the LED Masks Beside It and the Tools and Serums I Pair With It

The TheraFace Mask Glo is Therabody's 12-minute LED mask, and it sits in a growing shelf of light masks, face tools and serums. Here is how I would read each one, and what to press in after the light.

Therabody started with a chiropractor and a motorcycle accident. According to the brand, Dr. Jason Wersland invented the Theragun in 2008 as an alternative to surgery or pain medication for injuries from that accident, and it launched commercially in 2016. The company became Therabody in 2020. The TheraFace line is where that recovery thinking meets skin care.

The TheraFace Mask Glo was unveiled on October 14, 2025, and it succeeds the original TheraFace Mask from 2023. Therabody says it has 504 medical-grade lights in red, red plus infrared and blue, and the 12-minute routine gives four minutes to each. The FAQ says it starts with red, moves to red plus infrared, and ends with blue. The vibration sits only in the head strap, as a scalp massage. The original TheraFace Mask keeps 648 lights and runs three minutes per mode, nine in total, with an eye piece for reading or watching TV.

The other masks in this row are different takes on the same idea. Monastery Made The Deep Red LED Mask uses 470 LEDs at 650 nanometers of red light. Nooance Elite X600 pairs 300 red with 300 infrared lights in a 3D silicone shell. Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare DRx SpectraLite FaceWare Pro is the three-minute mask, with 100 red and 62 blue lights. Omnilux Contour Face is red and near-infrared, Omnilux Clear Skin is blue and red, and Shark CryoGlow adds under-eye cooling.

My tip: use any of them on clean, dry skin, as Therabody says, and keep serums for afterward.

Face tools for heat, cold and massage

Masks do the light, but tools do the touch, and this row is where I would have fun. The Therabody Theraface Depuffing Wand has three cold and three heat settings, and the product page suggests the heat setting after serums and creams. TheraFace PRO is the multitasker, made with a facial surgeon and offering six treatments, including percussive therapy, microcurrent and LED. Solawave Radiant Renewal Red Light Skincare Wand adds red light, galvanic current, vibration and warmth in one wand, and the brand suggests three minutes per region.

The gentler ones are the pleasure. Jillian Dempsey Gold Sculpting Bar is a 24-karat gold plate that vibrates, and she found it on a job in Japan. Walden Facial Ice Roller by Quiet Hours is stainless steel that lives in the freezer for 15 minutes. Pietro Simone Skin Whisperers Obsidian Gua Sha Reformer is hand-carved from black obsidian. NuFACE FIX MicroWand is a microcurrent wand for under the eyes and lips, used with its IonPlex mist. The LYMA Laser is the serious one, which the brand describes as an FDA-cleared cold laser that is safe over makeup.

Order matters: mask first on bare skin, then serum, then a tool to work it in. The Depuffing Wand on its heat setting is my pick for that last step.

What I would skip: stacking a cold roller straight after a heated wand. Do one or the other in a session so you can tell what you like.

Serums to press in after the mask

Serums are what I press in right after the mask. goop Beauty Youth-Boost Peptide Serum is an all-in-one peptide serum that the brand says was tested in a clinical study run by plastic surgeon Dr. Julius Few. MACRENE actives High Performance Face Serum comes from dermatologist Macrene Alexiades and carries over 55 active ingredients, from peptides to hyaluronic acid. goop Beauty Exosome Hydration Therapy Serum is a gel with cica leaf exosomes plus hyaluronic and polyglutamic acid.

Exosomes are a theme. Pietro Simone Regenesis Exo-Serum uses eight plant exosome extracts, and NakedBeauty MD Exoglow, developed by plastic surgeon Catherine Chang, MD, pairs exosomes with vitamin C and niacinamide. Allies of Skin Copper Tripeptide & Ectoin Advanced Repair Serum is built on copper tripeptide and ectoin for skin under stress. Auteur Superlative Serum Phi runs on a Bio-Reprogramming Peptide and Vintner's Daughter Active Botanical Serum is an oil infused with 22 organic botanicals.

My pairing: a water-light gel like the goop Beauty exosome serum right after the light, then a richer oil like Vintner's Daughter on top at night.

What I would skip: layering three or four of these at once. Pick one serum for a few weeks, and change only one thing at a time.

Putting the routine together

The routine is short. Cleanse, pat dry, put the mask on for its program, then press in one serum. Use a tool if you want a few more minutes of massage. Therabody suggests daily use of its mask on clean, dry skin, and other brands give their own session plans, so read the one on your box. Keep it simple, because the best device is the one you will actually wear on a Tuesday night. If you like the idea of the TheraFace Mask Glo but want a different shape or extra features, the rest of this page gives you the options.

The LED, ultrasound and cream pieces I add around it

If the TheraFace Mask Glo is your main device, this last shelf is where I would look for the pieces around it, starting with the small tools. Dr. Dennis Gross makes two LED devices, the EyeCare Max Pro with 96 red LED lights and the LipWare Pro with 56 red LED lights for the lips. Shark Beauty has the Depuffi, a gua sha-inspired tool with three hot and cold levels, and the FacialPro Glow, a hydro-powered system that comes with four extraction tips. THOME's Glow SIGNATURE uses dual-frequency ultrasound, Shani Darden's Facial Sculpting Wand uses sound wave technology, and DERMAFLASH does sonic dermaplaning for peach fuzz.

Then the creams to seal everything in. Augustinus Bader's The Cream is built on its Trigger Factor Complex, and its Rich Eye Cream is powered by TFC8. Dr. Barbara Sturm's Face Cream uses purslane and skullcap extracts. Sofie Pavitt's Omega Rich is fragrance-free with squalane, Angela Caglia's Soufflé uses meadowfoam seed oil and goat's milk, and Tatcha's Dewy Skin Cream is refillable and made with hyaluronic acid. CLINIQUE All About Eyes is a cooling rollerball with caffeine and panthenol.

What I would skip: stacking a sculpting tool, dermaplaning and an LED session on the same night. Pick one device and finish with one cream.
