Verb ghost oil is the weightless, moringa-based oil and the best-selling oil from a barbershop-born brand. Here is the Ghost line built around it, a set of light oils from other brands for fine hair, and the rest of Verb for curls, texture and refresh days.
Verb Ghost Oil and the Barbershop Idea Behind a Weightless Shine

Verb's own story starts in 2011 in Austin, Texas, at Birds Barbershop salons. The brand grew out of that shop, run by Claire Moses together with Jayson Rapaport and Michael Portman, and it is now owned by Moroccanoil. I like that origin. It explains why so much of what Verb makes is practical, quick and unfussy, the sort of thing you can use in a morning without a tutorial.
Verb ghost oil is where I would start. It is the brand's best-selling oil, powered by moringa oil and described as weightless. Claire Moses has said the team lifted Ghost Oil and its main ingredient, moringa seed oil, from skin care in 2017, which fits an oil that feels closer to a facial one than a heavy hair oil. Ghost Weightless Oil to Fight Frizz and Enhance Shine is what I use on dry hair, two drops rubbed between the palms and smoothed over the top layer.
The rest of the Ghost line is made for fine hair. Ghost Weightless Shampoo for Fine Hair and Ghost Conditioner for Fine Hair keep the same idea going in the shower, cleansing without piling on weight. Ghost Flexible Hairspray is the finisher, a hold you can still brush through. I would start with the oil alone for a week, then add the shampoo and conditioner if you like how it behaves on your hair. Verb also says all of its formulas are vegan and PETA certified cruelty-free, which is worth knowing if that matters to you.

Ghost Oil and the Ghost line
Other light oils for fine hair
Not everyone wants the same oil, and fine hair in particular can be fussy. Oil that is too rich turns a good hair day flat by lunchtime, so I look for light textures that give shine and control frizz without a greasy feeling at the roots.
Moroccanoil's Treatment Light Hair Oil for Fine Hair is the obvious neighbor to Ghost, and the one I would put next to it on a shelf. Olaplex's No. 7 Bonding Frizz Reduction and Heat Protectant Hair Oil is a good choice if you blow dry or use hot tools a lot, since it is made to go on before heat. Kérastase's Elixir Ultime Refillable Hydrating Hair Oil for Shine is the glamorous one, with a refillable bottle that looks lovely on a dresser.
shu uemura's Essence Absolue Nourishing Protective Hair Oil is the richer, protective one. Virtue's Hydrating Healing Hair Oil is the hydrating option for dry lengths. Bumble and bumble's Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Frizz Reducing Hair Oil lives up to its name, and I would pick it if my top priority is frizz that I cannot see.
The test I use for all of them is simple. Touch your hair at the end of the day. If it feels soft and moves freely, the amount was right. If it feels coated, use half next time and keep it off the scalp.

The rest of the Verb shelf
Once you like one Verb product, the rest of the line is easy to follow. It is built the way a barbershop works: a few tools that do their jobs, and no long list of steps.
Verb's Curl Foaming Gel for Definition and Frizz-Fighting is for waves and curls that need shape, and it works best scrunched into wet hair. The Volumizing Texture Spray with Light Hold is for the days when hair falls flat, and it gives a little grit at the roots without any stiffness. Refresh Dry Shampoo for Light Hair is there for day two or three.
Frizz Defense 5-in-1 Smoothing Treatment Spray is the one I keep for humid days, a light mist for frizz, and I reach for it when the forecast says humid. Hydrate Detangling Leave-In Conditioner for Dry, Frizzy Hair is the softer, creamier step, and I use it on hair that has been in the sun or the pool.
What I would skip: layering all of these on the same morning. Pick one smoother, one styler and one finisher, and leave the rest in the drawer for another day. Too many products, even light ones, will start to weigh hair down and make a dry shampoo look chalky.

How I would use a light oil
My rule for a light oil is that it goes on last, and it goes on small. Rub a couple of drops between your palms until they disappear, then smooth them over the mid-lengths and ends and only then the top layer where flyaways live.
Use it on damp hair for smoothness, or on dry hair for shine. Do not chase results by adding more. If you are still in doubt after a week, wash it out and start over with one drop. A good oil should make your hair look like itself on a better day, not like a different person. That is the reason I keep coming back to Ghost, and the reason I still try a few others.
If you are choosing between the oil and a cream, think about your ends. Fine hair that frizzes in damp weather does well with a mist or an oil, while thick hair can take more. Shampoo and conditioner matter too, since a heavy conditioner will undo the work of a light oil. Rinse well, comb through gently, and let the oil be the finishing touch rather than the whole plan.
