Wow Dream Coat launched in 2017 and became one of the most talked-about frizz sprays around. Here is the original and its two variations, the rest of the COLOR WOW shelf worth knowing, and the smoothing sprays and creams from other brands that do a similar job.
Wow Dream Coat and the Frizz Spray That Refused to Stay a Secret

Wow Dream Coat first appeared in 2017, and its real breakthrough came when stylist Chris Appleton posted about it and the video collected 19.4 million views. Products rarely earn that kind of attention for doing something as unglamorous as calming frizz, which tells you how many of us have lost a fight with humidity.
The company behind it, COLOR WOW, was founded in 2013 by Gail Federici, who is still its founder and CEO. Before COLOR WOW she was a co-founder of an earlier hair-care company, where she helped build the Frizz Ease line, so this is someone who has been thinking about frizz for a very long time. COLOR WOW describes Dream Coat as using polymer technology to seal strands against humidity, and that is the idea I keep in my head when I use it: a thin, invisible shell over a blow dry.
The three sprays in this grid are three answers to three hair types. The Dream Coat Supernatural Anti-Frizz Blow Dry Treatment Spray is the original, and the one I would start with if your hair is fine or straight. The Extra Strength Dream Coat Ultra-Moisturizing spray is the stronger sibling for coarse, thick or very dry hair that fights back. The Dream Coat Anti-Frizz Treatment for Curly Hair is made for curls, and it is the one I would hand to a friend whose waves turn to fluff the moment the weather changes.
Apply it on damp hair, comb through, then dry as usual. Less is more. A light haze, not a soaking, and start at the mid-lengths rather than the roots, so the hair near your scalp stays light.

The rest of the COLOR WOW shelf
Federici's brand is bigger than one bottle, and the rest of the COLOR WOW shelf shows a consistent point of view: hair that looks finished, not fussy. These are the ones I would pair with a Dream Coat blowout.
Money Laundering Shampoo for Extreme Hydration and Shine is the wash I would start with, and the Money leave in conditioner is the light layer that goes on before any heat. If your hair is tired, Money Masque is the deep conditioning and strengthening treatment for a weekend evening with a towel on your head.
Then comes the volume side. Raise the Root Thicken and Lift Spray goes at the roots before drying, and Xtra Large Bombshell Volumizer is a foam for body through the lengths. It is a smart contrast: the volume products push hair up and out, while Dream Coat keeps the outside smooth, and together they give a blowout that has movement without the puff.
Texas Hold 'Em Big Hold Hairspray is the finishing step, a strong hairspray for the days that involve wind, a long dinner or a wedding. Hold it at arm's length and spray in a sweeping motion so it sets rather than crunches. Brush through gently once it dries if you want the hold to soften into something more natural.
If you want to test the pairing, try Dream Coat on one side and leave the other bare. You will see the difference by the time you reach the car.

Smoothing sprays from other brands
Not every frizz problem needs the same bottle, and it is worth knowing what else is out there. The other brands in this grid tackle frizz through gloss, cream or lightweight spray, and each has a different feel.
JVN's Complete Blowout Styling Milk is a styling milk with a soft finish, good for anyone who wants a blowout that looks like hair and not like product. Pureology's Smooth Gloss Hair Treatment Spray is aimed at frizz and shine together. amika's Frizz-Me-Not Hydrating Anti-Frizz Treatment is the hydrating one of the group. Kérastase's Gloss Absolu All In One Anti-Frizz Spray is the all-in-one, gloss-minded pick. Living Proof's No Frizz Instant De-Frizzer is the one I would keep for quick touch-ups. Chris McMillan's The Glassy Smooth Blowdry Spray for Frizz leans toward a sleek, mirror-like finish.
Check each label for whether it goes on damp or dry hair, since these are not all used the same way, and follow the directions on the bottle.
What I would skip: layering three anti-frizz products on the same section of hair. Heavy layers weigh fine hair down and can leave it looking limp by lunchtime. Pick one for before the dryer and one small touch-up for after, and stop there.

How I would use them
My routine is short. Wash, apply a light leave-in, mist Dream Coat on damp hair, blow dry with a nozzle pointing down the hair shaft, and finish with a bit of hold only where you need it.
Think about your climate before you choose. Damp, muggy weather is where a sealing spray earns its place, while dry winter air may only need a smoothing cream. Keep heat on a medium setting, since even the best protection cannot undo a very hot tool used daily. Wash the product out with a regular shampoo when hair starts to feel coated, and do not be surprised if you use a little less each time you get to know your own hair. If your scalp itches or hair keeps breaking, a stylist or doctor is the right person to ask.
