SLOAN

SLOAN

Sloan was founded in 2020 by Julia Sloan, a Parsons graduate who studied strategic design rather than fashion design and spent eight years as creative director of a Mexican luxury house. The brand runs on an at-home production network of female artisans in Mexico who earn continuous income without leaving their households. The clothes are essentials, and the structure behind them is the actual innovation.

La Fuori

La Fuori

La Fuori was founded in 2019 in New York by designer Vidur Adlakha, trained at NIFT Mumbai and the Fashion Institute of Technology, alongside Riccardo Benedini, a Venice-based dealer in restored antique and modern objects. The label takes its name from the Italian phrase for out there, and it builds collections around hand-sewn, artisan-made textiles rather than a single home base or season.

The New Arrivals Ilkyaz Ozel

The New Arrivals Ilkyaz Ozel

İlkyaz Özel spent about a decade working as a freelance fashion stylist in Istanbul before launching The New Arrivals there in 2020, after also founding and running a separate label, Studio'11, from 2017. The brand built its name on eveningwear, especially slip and night dresses, filtered through what she describes as the duality of Mediterranean serenity and indulgence, relaxed daytime ease set against unapologetic nighttime glamour.

DL1961

DL1961

DL1961 started in 2008 in New York, launched by the Ahmed family after decades running a premium denim manufacturing business behind the scenes. What sets the label apart is XFIT Lycra, a patented cotton-wrapped stretch thread developed in-house that the brand has spent years refining for fit and recovery, alongside a water-conscious production process it introduced in 2013.

Harithand

Harithand

Harithand is the Beirut eveningwear house Iraqi-Lebanese designer Harith Hashim founded in 2012. It works on a pret-a-couture model, which means atelier-level dressmaking produced in limited runs rather than one-off commissions. The signature is what Hashim calls the chemistry between body and dress, and it is easy to see where that chemistry happens.

The Park

The Park

Sarah Bonello, who spent years working in lifestyle PR, launched The Park in 2024 out of Los Angeles and New York with a simple premise: make getting dressed easier for busy women. The label built its name on classic basics and activewear designed to be building blocks for an existing wardrobe rather than one-off statement pieces, with an emphasis on circular, waste-minimizing production.

Zeynep Arçay

Zeynep Arçay

Zeynep Arçay left a nearly two-decade career as a technology executive in Istanbul to launch her namesake label, named after her grandmother, in the early 2010s. She built the brand around paper-thin leather sourced from Leather Working Group-certified tanneries, engineered to move like fabric rather than sit stiff the way leather usually does.

SIRAPOP

SIRAPOP

A pair of Parson's founders Sirapop's whole approach is a kind of controlled tension, soft fabric pushed into structured, sculptural shapes

Marlies Grace

Marlies Grace

Verena Martin founded Marlies Grace around 2022, splitting her time between Miami and Paris, and named the label after her late mother, Marlies, whose own parents ran a fashion store in Soest, Germany. Martin brought on vintage curator Mariana Vergara to help shape a point of view built on nostalgia and European reference points rather than any single trend cycle.

THE GARMENT

THE GARMENT

THE GARMENT launched in Copenhagen in 2020, led by designer Charlotte Eskildsen, previously behind the Danish label Designers Remix, alongside stylist and Vogue Scandinavia editor Sophia Roe. The specific thing that makes the label what it is: a tight focus on knitwear and precise tailoring in natural and recycled fabrics, built around what the brand calls closet hero pieces rather than a full seasonal wardrobe.

Sanderlak

Sanderlak

Sanderlak is the second act of one of the most missed labels of the last decade.

Curatoria

Curatoria

Astrid Muñoz, a former model turned photographer, built Curatoria in Argentina in 2019 after years spent traveling the country documenting artisan communities and disappearing craft techniques. The label runs on that groundwork: instead of treating heritage textile and leatherwork skills as decoration, it structures whole collections around them, crediting the makers as collaborators rather than suppliers.

RÙADH

RÙADH

Jac Cameron, a Scottish-born denim designer who spent two decades at Abercrombie, Madewell, Calvin Klein and her own earlier brand AYR, founded RÙADH in New York around 2023 and gave the label its first public collection in late 2024. The name is Scottish Gaelic for red, colloquially used for redheads and, per Cameron, carrying older connotations of resilience, and every wash and style name in the collection traces back to a Scottish place or a family member, including a skirt named for the grandmother who taught her to sew.

Slip Dresses

Slip Dresses

The slip dress has survived every attempt to retire it. It arrived from lingerie in the nineties, got written off as a costume, and came back as the default answer to almost every dress code that is not explicitly formal.

Zulu & Zephyr

Zulu & Zephyr

Sisters Candice Rose-O'Rourke and Karla Rose founded Zulu & Zephyr in Bondi Beach, Australia, in the summer of 2012, building the label's design brief around reviving their mother's 1970s prints and textures. The name pairs two deliberately contrasting ideas, Zulu for strength and Zephyr for a relaxed, floating quality, which the sisters point to as the tension the brand designs around.

Cala de la Cruz

Cala de la Cruz

Carolina López Cruz launched Cala de la Cruz in 2018 in Cali, Colombia, with her mother Liliana as partner, after training in textile design at Savannah College of Art and Design and fashion at Istituto Marangoni in Milan. The label runs on bold, illustrative prints and retro-leaning silhouettes made locally by small family workshops in Cali, often to order rather than in bulk.
