La DoubleJ began in 2015 as J.J. Martin’s shoppable magazine for vintage clothing and the women shaping Milan’s creative life. By 2017 it had expanded into original fashion and homeware built around Italian craftsmanship, saturated color and a very serious appetite for pattern. The edit is happiest when the print is allowed to be the architecture.

Mizuki Goltz founded her New York jewelry brand with her husband in 1996 after studying sculpture at the School of Visual Arts. A handmade beaded necklace sold for twenty dollars became an early nudge toward a career built around modern pearls and fluid gold lines. The work balances Japanese and American sensibilities without turning either into a costume.

Sacai

Sacai turns familiar garments into arguments about how clothes can be built. Chitose Abe founded the Tokyo label in 1999 after working at Comme des Garçons, beginning with a small run of hand-knitted pieces and developing a practice she calls hybridization. Tailoring, sportswear, knitwear and utility details meet here in silhouettes that reward a second look.

Olivia von Halle

Olivia von Halle started in Shanghai, where founder Olivia von Halle asked a tailor to make the glamorous silk pajamas she wanted to wear after nights out. She returned to London and launched the brand in 2011 with the Lila, a single style shaped by 1920s lounging clothes and the wit of Coco Chanel. The collection still treats sleepwear as a proper wardrobe, adding robes, nightdresses and silk-cashmere tracksuits to the argument.

Solace London

Solace London makes evening clothes that understand the power of a clean line. Founded in 2013 by Laura Taylor and Ryan Holliday-Stevens, the label grew from a friendship and a shared desire to make the kind of clothes they could not find elsewhere. Gowns in crepe, satin and twill keep the drama focused, with shape doing most of the work.

Colleen Allen

Colleen Allen

Colleen Allen trained in menswear, worked under Raf Simons at Calvin Klein and designed at The Row, then launched her own womenswear label in February 2024. Within two years she had a CFDA nomination, an LVMH Prize finalist spot and a front row that included Charli XCX and Greta Lee. The clothes are tailored with menswear rigour and cut with something much stranger in mind.

Aisha Baker

Aisha Baker is a Dubai high-jewellery house founded in 2017 by the Emirati entrepreneur Aisha Bakhtiar with the designer Hoonik Chang, who trained in jewellery at Central Saint Martins. The pieces are built as narratives, with fairy-tale and fantasy themes running through collections released in tiny editions.

Almasika

Catherine Sarr founded Almasika in January 2014 and debuted it at Colette in Paris, after more than a decade in the diamond and fine-jewellery industry including several years at De Beers and at LoveGold. The name joins almasi, Swahili for diamond, with sika, a word for gold across several West African languages.

Anya Hindmarch started her label in London in 1987 at nineteen, with no design school behind her, after a year in Florence learning the leather trade from the craftsmen who worked in it. She sold her first five hundred bags through a magazine offer and used the proceeds as start-up capital.

Andrea Gomez

Andrea Gomez studied jewellery design in Florence as a teenager, then at FIT in New York and the London College of Fashion, and worked at DKNY before launching her own shoes. She started in Caracas in 2011 with her sisters Leonor and Mariela, then relaunched the line in New York for spring 2017. Everything is made in a small family-owned factory near Alicante in Spain.

Aliita

Aliita was founded in Milan in 2015 by Cynthia Vilchez Castiglioni, who grew up in Maracaibo in Venezuela and studied fashion marketing at IED before working at Vionnet, Miu Miu and Jil Sander. The name is both an anagram of Italia and a Wayuu word for an important object, after the Guajiro people of Zulia where she was raised.

Ashlyn

Ashlyn

Ashlyn is a New York label built by a patternmaker rather than a stylist, and the difference is visible in every seam. Ashlynn Park trained in Seoul and Tokyo, won Japan's SO-EN Award, then cut patterns at Yohji Yamamoto, Alexander Wang and Calvin Klein 205W39NYC before founding her own line in 2020. Five years later the Met owns her work and the CFDA named her American Emerging Designer of the Year.

Armenta

Emily Armenta traded at Morgan Stanley, then wrote the business plan for her jewellery company as a class assignment during her MBA at Rice, and launched it in Houston in 2001. The work is built on mixing oxidised silver with gold and setting micromosaics, ancient beads and enamel patinas into it.

Andrés Otálora runs his house out of Cali, where the clothes are made by hand by an atelier of more than fifty women, each of them the head of a family. He came to design sideways, having trained and worked as a business administrator first.

Wiederhoeft

Wiederhoeft treats a fashion show as a piece of theatre, which is exactly what its founder was trained to do. Jackson Wiederhoeft won Women's Designer of the Year at Parsons in 2016, spent three years on women's runway collections at Thom Browne, and launched the label in October 2019 with a ten-look story ballet called Spooky Couture. The press calls them the high priest of corsets made in New York, and the corsetry is genuinely the reason.

Amrapali was founded in Jaipur in 1978 by Rajiv Arora and Rajesh Ajmera, two school friends with history degrees, no jewellery background and about four hundred rupees of savings. They started out selling carved wooden boxes, then toured rural Rajasthan buying antique tribal silver to take apart and rebuild.

Marie Lichtenberg launched her jewelry line in 2019 after twelve years as a fashion editor at French Elle. Her first lockets drew on a chain her mother gave her at fourteen, and forty pieces sold through Instagram in forty-eight hours. The collection still treats sentiment, craft and a little irreverence as design material.

LOUISE ROE

LOUISE ROE makes home objects that sit between sculpture and daily use, with glass, ceramic and metal doing most of the talking. Founded in Copenhagen in 2010 by Louise Roe Andersen, the studio grew from a fashion-trained eye for complete collections and honest materials made by European craftspeople. The pieces are quiet in purpose but rarely plain in outline, which is exactly what makes them work in a real room.

Jewelry that feels found rather than manufactured, even when the finish is polished. Verda Alaton founded the Istanbul label after years of studying anthropology, collecting tribal art and traveling through Asia and Africa, turning shells, stones and metal into expressive talismans. The pieces are bold in shape but still close to the body, which is where their natural materials make the most sense.

Heirlome was founded in 2022 by Stephanie Suberville and her husband Jeffrey Axford on the idea that a skill can be an heirloom. Suberville left Monterrey for Parsons in 2004, spent two decades in New York fashion, and built the label out of what she describes as a constant state of nostalgia for Mexico. Every collection begins with an artisan rather than a trend.

Róhe

Róhe is named after the Norwegian word for calm and operates out of a seventeenth century canal palace on Amsterdam's Golden Bend. Marieke Meulendijks and Maickel Weyers, a couple who met in a bar in a southern Dutch village in 2000, founded it in 2021 after she had spent years carrying the idea around. It has since become the label people reach for when they have exhausted the obvious quiet luxury options.

FFORME

FFORME

FFORME was founded in 2021 by two businesswomen rather than a designer, which is still unusual enough to be worth saying out loud. Nina Khosla and Laura Vazquez hired Paul Helbers, a menswear veteran of Margiela, Louis Vuitton and The Row, and he built the first collection on a sewing machine in Brittany during lockdown. The double F stands for fundamental and foundational, and the brand has never really strayed from that.

Olympia Le-Tan turns the clutch into a small, hand-held argument for taking culture out at night. Founded in 2009 by Gregory Bernard and Olympia Le-Tan, the label is known for hand-embroidered designs that borrow from books, art, and cinema. These are not quiet accessories, and that is precisely why they work.

Anna Sui makes fashion from the collision of vintage references, rock and roll, bohemia and New York downtown energy. She launched her first collection in 1981 after studying at Parsons and has spent decades turning research into clothes that feel exuberant but carefully composed. The current pieces keep that spirit in satin, velvet, lace, fur textures and unapologetic print.

Buccellati

Buccellati’s story begins with Mario Buccellati, who opened his first enterprise in Milan in 1919 after apprenticing with local goldsmiths. His work interpreted Italian techniques through finely textured gold and an unusually sculptural sense of nature. Rings, cuffs, necklaces and earrings in this selection carry that workshop language forward.
